Jonathan Jennings Harris is an artist, technologist, and lifelong explorer, inspired by the search for universal principles and patterns. Born in 1979, he studied painting and drawing at Deerfield Academy, computer science at Princeton University, and interactive art at Fabrica. His work with data visualization and interactive storytelling helped to establish those fields in the early 2000s through projects like 10x10, We Feel Fine, The Whale Hunt, and Cowbird. More recently, he’s been using the embodied technology of ritual to make what he calls ‘Life Art’ — through multi-year projects like Today and In Fragments. His works have been featured at TED, MoMA, Sundance, Ars Electronica, Pace Gallery, and in museums around the world. He lives in northern Vermont, where he helps to steward High Acres Farm and Notitia Sanctuary.
