          Essay

          Pegboard

This disembodied head was peeping through a piece of pegboard hung with hairclips, just like me ogling the autumnal attendees of the annual and well-advertised Harvest Faire, which sprawled through the streets of Sisters on this chilly and sunlit Sunday afternoon. The locals were out in full force, in from their farms, log homes, and mountain chalets, flaunting their finest high desert fashion, snacking on funnel cakes and elephant ears, gawking at the wares for sale, and huddling to keep warm with the help of propane tanks and meandering facial hair. Another delightful day in Sisters — oh brother!
